Dmitry Avdeev, General Director of Plateks NPP, has informed that the project implementation schedule for the construction of a nitrogen fertilizer production plant near the former chemical weapons destruction facility in Gorny (Saratov Region) was revised due to the land registration process. “There is a procedure to change a type of permitted use. Project operations are expected to start operations by year-end. The project implementation timeline has simply been adjusted,” he said without specifying the project deadlines. The capacity of the future enterprise can amount to 912.5 thousand tons of ammonia, 766.5 thousand tons of urea, 766.5 thousand tons of ammonium nitrate and 602.250 thousand tons of non-concentrated nitric acid per year.
