# Group DF accused of abuse

Publication Date: 31.07.2019, 18:27

Group DF and its monopoly powers.

Tomorrow the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine is going to consider the case of abuse of the monopoly position by Group DF in the nitrogenous fertilizer market.

The agency’s investigation found that Group DF enterprises occupied a monopoly position in the market in 2014-2017 and abused it, resorting to intra-group resale of natural gas, which could lead to higher prices for fertilizer sold to consumers in 2014-2015, and halting of fertilizer production by Group DF plants in March 2017, although NF Trading Ukraine (Group DF sales structure) had received an advance payment for them.

Within 4 months, Group DF did not take measures to resume production and provide fertilizers to farmers during the spring field work.

These violations of the law on the Protection of Economic Competition are liable to respective sanctions.
