# Israel Chemicals boosted sales but cut production

Israel Chemicals reports strong second-quarter potash sales results.

In the second quarter of this year, Israel Chemicals reduced the production of potassium chloride by 17% to 1.117 million tons, however, it was able to increase potash sales by 14.2% to 12.252 million. Its stocks in warehouses almost halved to 384 thousand tons.

The production dropped because the Boulby mine (UK) phased out potassium chloride production as part of the transition to the production of polyhalite and also because capacity load at Israel Chemicals in Spain and Israel declined.

At the same time, the sales growth was driven by the larger orders in China and Brazil, while in India they decreased.
