Australian Potash received a $ 1.3 million tax deduction for research on the Lake Wells Potash project, which included the creation of potassium sulfate from underground brines. It has already dug up a pilot network of ponds, which includes a large pond for preliminary concentration of aqueous solutions of salts and three smaller ones for the deposition of sodium, magnesium and potassium salts. An experimental batch of three tons of product was obtained from brines. In the future, Australian Potash intends to build a full-fledged enterprise with a capacity of 150 thousand tons of potassium sulfate per year in the first five years of operation with a subsequent increase to 300 thousand tons.
