The Australian company Agrimin has selected an engineering design contractor for the Wyndham Port. The facility will provide a bulk ship loading solution specifically tailored to tranship sulphate of potash from the Mackay Potash Project. Agrimin had previously issued 14.5 million new shares to raise $ 8 million needed to complete the feasibility study for the Mackay project. Agrimin conducted a prefeasibility study for the Mackay Project and estimated the reserves and the resources from the surface to a depth of 24.7 m. According to its data, sulphate of potash (SOP) reserves are 4.3 million tons, and projected capacity is 18.9 million tons. The average potassium (K) concentration reaches 3.6 mg per 1 litre of brine. As part of the Mackay project, the process plant has been designed for a capacity of 426,000 tonnes of sulphate of potash per year for over at least 20 years. The operating cost will amount to $ 200 per tonne of salt.
