The African giant Dangote Group has completed the plans to launch the Dangote Fertilizer plant (Nigeria). “Phase one of the project, which is estimated to cost $2.5 billion, is to manufacture three million metric tones per annum of urea. Fertiliser is essential for agribusiness in Africa. The coming on stream of Dangote Fertiliser would surely make Africa self-sufficient in food production and a net exporter of food to the world”, the company announced in its her statement. Subsequently, the enterprise is planned to be expanded to manufacture all grades of mineral fertilizers, in particular, calcium ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulfate. Earlier in 2019, the management of the Dangote Fertilizer plant entered into a long-term agreement with the top management of Chevron Nigeria (part of Chevron) on the supply of natural gas to the new fertilizer plant.
