# Angola wants to start phosphate rock mining

The Government of Angola held an international tender to issue licenses for the extraction of various minerals in the country, including phosphate rock.

License applications were submitted by companies from Angola, Australia, Switzerland and the United States. Seven of them related to the production of phosphate rock in the province of Cabinda, three, in the province of Zaire.

According to Mankenda Ambroise, Chairman of the tender committee, licenses will be granted to successful tenderers in April this year.

It is worth noting that for many years, the Australian company Minbos Resources has been implementing the Cabinda project in Angola, which involves the development of phosphate rock deposits, however, it has not yet begun to produce phosphorites.
