PhosAgro CEO Andrey Guryev participated in the launch of a network of soil laboratories in the Middle East and North Africa (Resolan Nena) as part of the common project with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Resolan Nena will become a part of the global network of soil laboratories, which was launched in November 2017. The project’s goals are sharing experiences between laboratories from around the world and the implementation of the soil science program. On the regional level, the new network aims to support farmers on sustainable agriculture, as well as to gather information to develop global standards in the area. The regional network will include 53 laboratories from 19 countries, including Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Sudan, Tunisia, the UAE and Yemen. In the future, other states of the region will join the network. Eduardo Mansur, Director of the Land and Water Division of UN’s FAO, noted that the implementation of the Resolan Nena project is a very important step to ensure sustainable agriculture at the regional and global levels. Eduardo Mansur thanked Andrey Guryev and PhosAgro company for their assistance in the creation of Resolan Nena. PhosAgro CEO Andrey Guryev, in turn, thanked FAO for the honor of becoming the first Russian company participated in the implementation of the global soil protection program. “PhosAgro and FAO share one purpose: to guarantee public access to high-quality and safe food, to allow farmers to efficiently use their land, growing eco-friendly products, and to prevent the soil degradation,” said Andrey Guryev in his welcome speech addressed to the heads of regional laboratories. “We will make every effort to ensure the project continues developing, thereby helping farmers to efficiently grow clean crops,” emphasized Andrey Guryev.
