# Kemerovo Azot waits for the unique equipment delivery

The novel absorption column is on its way.

In the second half of August, Kemerovo Azot (part of SDS Azot) expects the delivery of an absorber column made for the plant’s nitric acid workshop. The contractor has already loaded the column on a vessel, which aimed to arrive in Saint Petersburg on July 14.

“This absorber column is unique for Russia. It is the most productive among similar ones — the column’s capacity is 500 tons of nitric acid monohydrate per day,” said Dmitry Proskurin, Head of the company’s project department.

Two units for the production of nitric acid with a total capacity of a thousand tons per day will operate in the new workshop. The launch of the units will increase the production of ammonium nitrate by 227 thousand tons per year.
