The raw material base has been prepared, the processing remains to be done.

The Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Russia Ermek Kosherbayev signed an intergovernmental agreement on the implementation of EuroChem’s investment project for the construction of mineral fertilizer production plant in Kazakhstan.

EuroChem has already explored one of the deposits of the Karatau phosphorite basin and commissioned an enterprise for the production of phosphorite flour there with a capacity of 640 thousand tons per year.

“The signed agreement opens a new stage in the implementation of the investment project. It will allow us to expand the existing production and start the construction of a new plant for the production of at least one million tons of mineral fertilizers and industrial products per year. The plant will use the best available technologies in the chemical industry in its production,” noted Denis Manturov.

“The new enterprise in Kazakhstan will receive potassium chloride from Russia. Also, it’s expected to use Russian energy and mining equipment for a total amount of about $50 million. The final products will be supplied to the domestic market of Kazakhstan, as well as for export to China, countries of Central and Southeast Asia and the Middle East.”
