One worker was injured.

An emergency occurred at Grodno Azot (Belarus). The valve cover on the oxygen line in the methanol workshop was depressurized, which caused a flash without subsequent combustion.

As a result of the accident, one worker of Grodno Azot got a thermal burnt. The reasons and circumstances of the incident are investigating, the technological process has not been stopped. According to the press release of Grodno Azot, there is no threat to the employees of the company and residents of Grodno city.

Grodno Azot produces methanol, ammonia, carbamide, sulfuric and nitric acids.
