The North opened a closer and cheaper route.

Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) announced a new route for the supply of potassium chloride to China. Two vessels departed from the port of Klaipeda (Lithuania) and sailed along the Northern Sea Route, therefore, shortening the delivery time by 1,5 times compared to the ordinary route. Moreover, freight costs have also significantly decreased.

The press-service of the Belarusian Potash Company called this route an ambitious project. In April this year, BPC signed an agreement on the delivery of potassium chloride to China for $220 per ton.
