In January-September this year, the PhosAgro-Region company (part of PhosAgro) increased supplies of mineral fertilizers to Russian farmers by 9.7% to 2.93 million tons. Sales of PhosAgro’s own products raised by 6.4% to 2.44 million tons. More than 80% of the total volume falls on phosphorus fertilizers, the sales of which increased by 5.3%. The sales of nitrogen fertilizers raised by 12% to 416 thousand tons. Other manufacturers’ products supplied by PhosAgro-Region amounted to about 480 thousand tons. The growth in demand for phosphorus fertilizers is mainly driven by their high efficiency and improved quality as well as by the drought in large agricultural regions. The plonged heatwave led to a moisture deficit and record growth in demand for liquid complex fertilizers. Farmers also demonstrate a stable demand for granular ammonium sulfate, the production of which was launched this spring by the Balakovo branch of Apatit (part of PhosAgro). “The Russian market is an invariable priority for us. One of the reasons is that innovative brands of mineral fertilizers are highly demanded there. As of today, PhosAgro’s portfolio includes more than 50 brands, 19 of which are complex fertilizers unique for Russia with microelements in one granule,” said PhosAgro CEO Andrey Guryev.
