The Belarusian authorities have begun the preparation of large industrial enterprises for sale. Moreover, they are already conducting negotiations with potential buyers, reported the Director of the Belarus Free Theatre Nikolai Khalezin. The list of enterprises includes Belaruskali, one of the world’s largest producers of potassium chloride. “For Belaruskali, the authorities request $10 billion, however, the buying party offers only $6 billion. Several players are interested in this asset,” Nikolai Khalezin wrote. Taking into account that the next person who comes to power will nationalize the enterprise back, it may be noted that the purchasing of the key asset of the country for $10 billion looks highly risky.
