The US International Trade Commission made the final decision to impose duties on the import of phosphorus fertilizers from Russia and Morocco.

As a result of the investigation initiated in summer 2020, the Commission confirmed that the import of phosphorus fertilizers from these countries harm local producers, reported the initiator of the investigation, North American Mosaic.

Based on the decision of the Commission, the US Department of Commerce will introduce countervailing duties on the import of phosphorus fertilizers from Russia and Morocco. Duty rates were previously set at 47.05% for EuroChem, 17.2% for other Russian producers, and 19.97% for the Moroccan OCP Group. The duties are imposed for 5 years.

The duties will come into force in April. However, the US Customs Service is already collecting cash deposits from importers based on established rates to guarantee payment of possible duties.
