# EuroChem will sign a special investment contract to build the new plant

The state will support a promising project.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has approved the application of EuroChem for signing a special investment contract (SPIC) for the construction project of the EuroChem Northwest-2 plant (Kingisepp, Leningrad Region).

The project provides for the application of an energy-efficient technology for the production of ammonia and carbamide. A water treatment unit will also be created, capable of receiving river water and wastewater from adjacent industries, which will have a beneficial effect on the environmental situation in the area where the enterprise is located.

Earlier, [Fertilizer Daily](https://www.fertilizerdaily.com/20210104-eurochem-northwest-2-will-receive-state-financing/) reported that the capacity of EuroChem Northwest-2 should be 1.1 million tons of ammonia and 1.4 million tons of carbamide per year. Its commissioning is scheduled for 2023.
