# PhosAgro will create a carbon farm in the Vologda region

The farm is planned to be completed within two years.

Russian Academy of Science (RAS) and PhosAgro signed a cooperation agreement aimed at climate change controlling and minimizing environmental impact. The document was signed by PhosAgro CEO Andrey Guryev and RAS President Alexander Sergeev.

As part of the agreement, PhosAgro plans to build a carbon farm in the Vologda region in 2021-2023. PhosAgro and RAS specialists will use the farm to conduct calculations of the nutrition systems, biostimulation and plant protection, as well as to develop a digital air-plant-soil model for local climatic and meteorological conditions. The farm will occupy not less than 325 hectares.

Then RAS experts will select competitive and promising technologies to implement by 2028 a full-scale project for the creation of PhosAgro’s carbon farms in the Vologda region. The agreement also provides for the development and introduction of new domestic carbon sequestration technologies and the expansion of the PhosAgro product line with high-efficient brands of mineral fertilizers for carbon farms.
