# Acron will modernize its four carbamide units

The annual capacity of the plant will exceed 2.3 million tons.

Acron plant (part of Acron Group) has begun the preparations for the full-scale modernization of four carbamide units. The total investments will amount to $92 million.

The implementation of the project will increase the total capacity of carbamide units No.1-4 by 55% — from 2 thousand tons to 3.1 thousand tons per day, while the annual output of products will grow by 390 thousand tons. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2024.

Currently, Acron operates six carbamide units. Units No.1-4 were launched in 1969-1972 with a total designed capacity of 360 thousand tons per year, which was subsequently upgraded to 730 thousand tons per year.

In 2012, the company launched carbamide unit No.5 with a capacity of 350 thousand tons per year then it was increased to 515 thousand tons. In 2018, carbamide unit No. 6 was put into operation with a capacity of 210 thousand tons.

Acron is currently completing the implementation of the Carbamide No.6+ project to increase the unit’s capacity to 730 thousand tons per year. The total annual carbamide production at Acron will exceed 2.3 million tons.
