They want to strike Belarusian exports.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis says that the export of Belarusian potassium fertilizers through Lithuania must be completely stopped.

“We sent our proposals on expanding sanctions against Belarus to Brussels. It includes the possibility to completely stop the export of Belarusian potassium fertilizers through Lithuania,” Gabrielius Landsbergis said.

The discussion on this issue has not yet begun, however, negotiations may take place in September, the Minister added.

The shareholder of Biriu kroviniu terminalas, Igor Udovitsky previously stated that the sanctions of the European Union against Belaruskali will lead to global consequences for the whole world. Mr. Udovitsky also believes that within this scenario, Belaruskali may come to an agreement with partners in Russia and start exporting its products through the terminals of Ust-Luga and St. Petersburg, while the consequences for Lithuania will be significant. According to his statement, every fourth ton of cargo in the port of Klaipeda is produced by Belaruskali.
