# Russia sharply increased exports of rye

Russian grain is mostly purchased by Middle East countries.

According to the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), over the seven months of this year, the exports of rye from Russia increased 11 times compared to the same period in 2020.

The export of barley also increased (from 2.93 million tons to 2.99 million tons), oat (from 65.7 thousand tons to 76.5 thousand tons), and rice (from 9.2 thousand tons to 49, 2 thousand tons).

Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia became the main grain importers. Leguminous crops were purchased mostly by Pakistan, Turkey, and Italy. Oilseeds from Russia were mainly exported to China, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. The main volume of supplies of grain processing products fell on Latvia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus.
