# US plan to simplify applications for carbon credits

Parliamentarians are studying the bill.

The US Senate has adopted a draft law that provides for the certification of farms and agricultural holdings reducing greenhouse gas emissions or capturing carbon.

The purpose of the law is to create a transparent certification scheme through the Ministry of Agriculture of the US, thereby making it easier to obtain so-called carbon credits.

The bill was passed by a majority vote of the members of the US Senate and is now referred to the US House of Representatives.
