The hurricane caused serious damage.

The US producer of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, Mosaic, faced the negative effects of Hurricane Ida, which damaged Faustina and Uncle Sam enterprises. They are now under renovations that are expected to take 8-9 weeks.

Therefore, by the end of 3Q2021, the production of phosphorus fertilizers may decrease by about 300 thousand tons. During the 4th quarter, it should gradually increase, however, the production of phosphorites may still be below an average level.

Hurricane Ida also caused navigation problems on the Mississippi River, which may block the way during the busy autumn field season and create logistical risks for Mosaic.
