# US farmers expect an increase in corn, soybean and cotton yields

Agriculture is changing.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the US reports the increase in yields of corn, soybeans, and cotton this year.

The US yield of corn has already grown by 6% compared to 2020 and is expected at 648.7 million tons, the yield of soybeans also increased by 6% and may reach 189 million tons. The cotton harvest jumped by 27% and may amount to 4 million tons.

The US current estimates its area under corn at 93.3 million acres (37.8 million hectares), for soybeans at 87.2 million acres (35.3 million hectares), and for cotton at 11. 2 million acres (45.3 million hectares), having declined by 1%, 1%, and 5%, respectively.
