Farmers have to pay attention to detailed soil analysis.

“In 2021, mineral fertilizers are expected to rise in price by 5-7%. In such a situation, the issue of their effective use becomes more urgent than ever. The effectiveness of the use of fertilizers, in turn, depends on the soil,” said Kirill Kosodurov, General Director of Agroplem, during his speech at the Russian Crop Production-2021/22 conference, organized by the Agroinvestor magazine.

According to the statement of Mr. Kosodurov, crops are often sown in fields with several types of soil, and mineral fertilizers are applied there without taking into account the peculiarities of soil diversity. Thus, the volume of yields could be higher if farmers had detailed information about the soil and the concentration of nutrients there.

Kirill Kosodurov noted that the problem can be solved but it’s necessary to take soil samples for their subsequent analysis in a laboratory for the content of macro- and microelements. After which the service calculates the doses of mineral fertilizers that need to be applied to the field, makes recommendations and virtual maps for their differentiated use. There are currently no laboratories in Russia that provide the entire range of laboratory services and modern data processing, except the one created by Agroplem in Moscow.
