The rise in prices for natural gas brings new sacrifices.

The German concern BASF announced a forced reduction in ammonia output at two of its plants, one of which is located in Antwerp (Belgium), and the other in Ludwigshafen (Germany).

“Due to the rise in natural gas prices in Europe, the economic situation at the ammonia plants has become extremely difficult,” BASF said in its press-release.

Now BASF will constantly monitor the dynamics of natural gas prices and adjust the volume of ammonia production.

Earlier, CF Industries, Yara International, and Fertiberia Group have also reduced their production.
