The company explores opportunities for a carbamide plant.

Australian oil and gas company Strike Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Infinite Blue Energy to study the prospects for the production and use of green hydrogen.

Strike Energy needs green hydrogen to supply the future carbamide plant with a design capacity of about 1.4 million tons of carbamide per year and a cost of $2.3 billion.

Australian agriculture currently needs 1.9 million tons of carbamide per year, of which 1.7 million tons are imported. By building and launching its facility, Strike Energy will reduce Australia’s dependence on carbamide imports.

Strike Energy plans to install a special electrolysis cell to produce 1.83 thousand tons of hydrogen per year. To provide it with electricity, it’s planned to build a geothermal power plant.
