# Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers launched a new cooling tower

Phosphoric acid production will be stable.

Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers (part of Uralchem) has launched a new three-section cooling tower. The unit was installed as part of the project for the technical re-equipment of the wet-process phosphoric acid workshop No. 3 and became an important part of the fourth cycle of water circulation.

Previously, the company used two two-section cooling towers, which wasn’t always enough to cool water from the heat exchangers of evaporation units of the wet-process phosphoric acid workshop No. 3. It led to the unloading of the workshop and a decline in production.

The new tower will cool the water from 40C to 26C and will ensure stable production, taking into account the increase in workshop productivity. The new fan cooling tower is easy to maintain and operate, is energy-intensive, and allows high-temperature load, as well as provides deep water cooling.

“With relatively small dimensions, the tower will run through the system about 4.5 thousand cubic meters of water, which is 1.5 times more than the previous cooling towers,” said Deputy Head of the water supply and sewerage department Vadim Nikitin. “The new tower also allows adjusting the fan speed, due to which we will be able to efficiently regulate the water temperature. All these factors will ensure the stable production of phosphoric acid and an increase in productivity of the workshop following the plans of the company.”
