German chemical giant Bayer has announced the sales expansion of seeds of organically grown vegetables through its Vegetables by Bayer program. It will sell seeds of tomato, cucumber, and bell pepper for greenhouse cultivation. The expansion of Bayer’s product portfolio is the company’s response to the growing demand for organic seeds. The capacity of the global market for organic seeds in 2020 was $335 million in monetary terms and is expected to reach $480 million by 2025. The program is scheduled to be launched in early 2022, and it will target the markets of Canada, the United States, Mexico, Spain, and Italy.
