As follows from the statement of the Agency, Nutrien Ag Solutions has repeatedly used dicamba-based products, which shouldn’t be applied to the fields. In 2020, the US Environmental Protection Agency banned the use of these pesticides since they cause harm to human health. “It’s crucially important to use pesticides following the requirements to its application to prevent its spread outside the field and protect non-target crops,” said Edward H. Chu, the Representative of the US Environmental Protection Agency. Nutrien Ag Solutions has taken measures to address violations, including training on pesticide use and improving record keeping.
