Three towers have been replaced.

Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers (part of Uralchem) has completed a large-scale project to replace three towers of the drying and absorption department of the SK-48 unit of the contact sulfuric acid workshop. The capital investments in the project exceeded 730 million rubles (approximately $9.9 million).

The project was launched in 2017. The intermediate absorption tower was the first one to be replaced, then, in 2019, the final absorption tower A2 was replaced, and already in 2021, it was the turn of the drying tower.

“We have implemented the next stage of technical re-equipment of the contact sulfuric acid workshop with the replacement of the drying tower at the SK-48 unit,” said Dmitry Zotov, Head of the contact sulfuric acid workshop. “During our work in 2017 and 2019, we primarily focused on the indicators of price and quality. This year, we also had to take into account the criterion of time. The management of the enterprise set the task to replace the tower in 30 days, and the works were completed on schedule.”
