The conclusions are ambiguous.

The Agriculture Council of America (ACA) has released a report on the possibilities of genetic engineering to improve the welfare of farmers. As follows from the document, the crops cultivated with this technology are much cheaper than traditional ones, since it provides larger yields with the same resources spent on their growing. As a result, food costs less as well.

The United States currently provides financial support to the products obtained without the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) of 9.8-61.8% and organic products of 13.8-91%. Trade barriers against GMOs limit food availability and farm incomes, leading to higher food prices.

ACA also noted the impact on human health, stating that countries prohibiting GMOs make it difficult for the population to access nutritious food.
