High prices have impacted the way of conducting business.

The rise in global fertilizer prices (the highest since 2008) in 2021 will have an impact on US planting planning in 2022.

As the US Department of Agriculture reports, the average carbamide price in October 2021 was $810 per ton, up from $352 per ton in the same period in 2020. The price of diammonium phosphate and the carbamide-ammoniac compound doubled to $814 and $475, respectively.

“With such a sharp rise in fertilizer prices, we are observing that farmers now consider planting scenarios to estimate the cultivating profitability,” said Matthew Lau, manager of The Climate Corporation. “About 20% of our American customers use planting scenarios to purchase seeds, fertilizers and crop protection products.”
