# SDS Azot may be deprived of export quota

The company doesn't fulfill obligations towards Russian farmers.

SDS Azot may be deprived of a quota for the export of nitrogen fertilizers due to failure to fulfill its obligations to supply them to Russian farmers. This was a subject of discussion at a meeting held by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. The Ministry is preparing a letter to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with the proposal.

Russia introduced limits to export mineral fertilizers for the period from December 1, 2021, to May 31, 2022. The quota allows shipping 5.9 and 5.35 million tons of nitrogen and complex fertilizers, respectively. SDS Azot was allowed to export 435 thousand tons.

The need of Russian agriculture for mineral fertilizers this year is estimated at 4.7 million tons.

SDS Azot manages Kemerovo Azot and the Angarsk Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant. The company can produce about 1.2 million tons of ammonia, 1.3 million tons of ammonium nitrate, 600 thousand tons of carbamide, and 300 thousand tons of ammonium sulfate. SDS Azot is controlled by Roman Trotsenko.
