# Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia will inspect the violation of fertilizer pricing

Publication Date: 04.02.2022, 18:00

The information is based on appeals of the regions.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia will redirect the information received from the regions on violations in the pricing of mineral fertilizers for farmers to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).

“During the week, we will be collecting information from the regions on those situations where pricing rules are violated. Based on these reports, we will appeal to FAS for further inspections. The Federal Antimonopoly Service is already waiting for this information from us,” said Maxim Titov, Head of the Department for regulation of agro-industrial markets at the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.

At the end of 2021, major producers of mineral fertilizers agreed to fix prices for their products supplied to domestic farmers until the end of May 2022.

According to the statement of Maxim Titov, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia notes a decrease in prices for mineral fertilizers for agricultural producers in Russia and doesn’t expect them to rise in price until at least May. At the same time, world prices are steadily growing, and there is already a significant gap between domestic and global prices for the main types of mineral fertilizers.
