Organic fertilizers are unlikely to replace mineral ones.

Pervomaisky Breeding Plant (Leningrad region) has launched a complex for the processing of waste products of cattle.

The project to create the complex cost 3.15 million euros (almost $3.6 million). It will produce organic fertilizers for the needs of agriculture in the Leningrad region and other regions of Russia. Pervomaisky specializes in cattle breeding and milk production.

“The launch of a complex for the production of organic fertilizers from manure by Pervomaisky shows the company’s compliance with the trend towards diversifying the business of livestock enterprises amid the growing interest in organic farming. However, organic fertilizers are unlikely to be able to completely replace mineral fertilizers in the foreseeable future,” commented the information and analytical service of Fertilizer Daily.
