Deliveries follow the schedule.

Since the beginning of 2022, the supply of mineral fertilizers to the domestic market of Russia has increased by 6%. The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia reports that this year Russian agriculture will need 5 million tons of mineral fertilizers.

As of today, the participants of the Russian Fertilizer Producers Association (RFPA) are carrying this supply plan in full, according to the schedule and contracted volumes.

According to the results of the January-February period, about 60% of deliveries to Russian farmers fell on nitrogen fertilizers — the most demanded type of fertilizers for spring sowing.

“Russian agriculture remains the priority consumer of the mineral fertilizer industry, and the domestic demand remains the driver of its development. I’d like to recall that over the past few years, the domestic demand for mineral fertilizers has been showing constant growth that exceeded any forecasts. And this demand has been always provided by Russian producers in full. In 2021, Russian farmers purchased almost 20% more mineral fertilizers than a year earlier, while the growth in exports of mineral fertilizers was less than 10%,” said Maxim Kuznetsov, Executive Director of RFPA. “Today’s situation with the purchase and supply of mineral fertilizers in Russia is stable. There is no shortage of fertilizers and it’s not expected. The domestic industry of mineral fertilizers is fully provided with domestic raw materials. As in previous years, the domestic demand for 2022 of 5 million tons of mineral fertilizers will be met in full by Russian producers.”
