Russia has suspended exports of wheat, rye, barley and corn to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This decision was made to ensure food security within the country. The ban will be valid until June 30 this year, however, the government has some exceptions. Grain can be shipped to Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republic, as well as to provide international humanitarian aid to foreign states. “The decision of the Russian government is absolutely correct, as it is aimed at preventing an increase in prices for food products on the domestic market, in particular for bread,” commented the information and analytical service of Fertilizer Daily.
