The output of Super Greensand is planned to reach 3 million tons per year.

The Brazilian company Verde AgriTech is implementing a project to increase the production of Super Greensand mineral fertilizer from 1.2 million tons to 3 million tons by the end of this year.

Earlier, Verde AgriTech announced its plans to sell 700 thousand tons of Super Greensand in 2022 and 1.4 million tons in 2023. Verde AgriTech does not disclose the composition of Super Greensand. Apparently, it’s a mineral fertilizer based on glauconite. Glauconite dissolves easily and therefore can be used as an alternative to potassium chloride.

Currently, Brazil is the world leader in the consumption of potassium fertilizers and takes second place in terms of its import, acquiring 96% of domestic demand in the country. In 2021, the consumption of potassium fertilizers in Brazil reached 7.9 million tons, while in 2020 it was 2.7 million tons.
