The structure of deliveries is changing.

Indian Potash signed an agreement with Israel Chemical to purchase potassium chloride from it. The contract will be valid from 2022 to 2027, the volume of supplies is not disclosed.

India is currently increasing the import of potassium chloride from Canada and Israel. These measures are necessary to accumulate sufficient stocks for the upcoming summer sowing after the disruption of supplies from Belarus and Russia.

“The Indian authorities are trying to provide their farmers with the necessary volume of fertilizers, however, it’s unlikely that Israel Chemicals will be able to completely replace supplies from the CIS countries. Last year, Indian Potash agreed with Israel Chemicals on the purchase of 600 thousand tons of potassium chloride with the possibility of providing additional volumes of 50 thousand tons. Nevertheless, Israel Chemicals most likely will not be able to ship to India over 1-1.5 million tons of potassium chloride per year,” commented the information and analytical service of Fertilizer Daily.
