Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended quotas for the export of mineral fertilizers until August 31 this year. He also instructed the government to ensure the provision of domestic farmers with mineral fertilizers and to maintain stable prices in the wholesale market of agricultural products and food. In November 2021, the Russian Government approved quotas for the export of nitrogen and complex fertilizers of 5.9 and 5.35 million tons, respectively. In April this year, they were changed to 5.7 million tons of nitrogen fertilizers and 5.6 million tons of complex fertilizers. Russian Fertilizer Producers Association (RFPA) reported that by the middle of April, the need of domestic farmers for mineral fertilizers was satisfied by 60% of the volume planned for 2022.
