A unique plant should be launched in 2025.

The Australian Orica and H2U Group signed a cooperation agreement to implement the H2-Hub Gladstone project (the state of Queensland). Within the framework of the project, it’s planned to build a plant for the production of green hydrogen and ammonia. Its electrolysis capacity will be up to 3 GW, and the plant will be able to produce 5 thousand tons of green ammonia per day. Solar and wind power plants will be used to supply the enterprise with energy and produce hydrogen and ammonia.

During the plant’s construction, over 550 jobs will be created, and 140 more jobs after it’s launched. Capital investments in the creation of the enterprise may reach $4.7 billion.

Within the cooperation agreement, Orica and H2U Group will also study the prospects for the supply of green ammonia to the Australian domestic market and beyond.

The final decision to begin the construction of the enterprise must be made no later than June 30, 2023. The commissioning of the plant is scheduled for 2025.
