# Russia will extend fertilizer export quotas

The domestic market remains a priority.

Quotas for the export of mineral fertilizers from Russia will be extended until the end of this year, said Deputy Prime Minister Viktoria Abramchenko.

“The government will extend the previously taken measures to limit the export of mineral fertilizers at least until December 2022. As before, the domestic market should remain a priority for producers to fully meet the needs of farmers and achieve predictable results in the production of agricultural products. In the period from June 1 this year to May 31, 2023, the domestic market of Russia will need over 15 million tons of fertilizers, which is 23% more, compared to the previous year,” Viktoria Abramchenko explained.

Earlier, the government introduced quotas for the export of nitrogen and complex fertilizers until May 31, 2022, and the export of ammonium nitrate was prohibited until May 1, 2022. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the plan for the purchase of mineral fertilizers this year has already been fulfilled by 84%.
