# Sowing of spring crops completed in the Stavropol region

The structure of sown areas has changed slightly.

Farmers of the Stavropol region have finished sowing spring crops, the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol region reports.

This year, the sown area under spring crops increased by 5.1% to 847 thousand hectares. Of their total sowing, the area under spring cereals (barley, oats and peas) increased by 2.6% to 256.9 thousand hectares, while under sunflower and corn decreased by 0.7% to 250 thousand hectares and by 7.5% to 120 thousand hectares, respectively.

Farmers of the Stavropol region need 644.9 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers to complete field works in 2022, of which 268 thousand tons are nitrogen fertilizers necessary for spring fieldwork.
