Farmers of Bashkortostan continue to purchase mineral fertilizers. As of May 20, they acquired 83 thousand tons of fertilizers, which is 12% more compared to the same period of 2021, the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkortostan reported. “There is a growing understanding among Bashkortostan’s agricultural producers that high yields cannot be achieved without fertilizers,” said Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, the Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan. “After a challenging last year, farmers are set for good results, so we’ve noticed an increase in the purchase and application of mineral fertilizers. Today, they provide 34 kg per 1 hectare of crops in the region, which is 7 kg more than last year.” Currently, prices for mineral fertilizers in Russia are frozen until May 31, 2022. There is also state financial support for their acquisition. This year, the government of Bashkortostan provided agricultural enterprises and farmers of the region with subsidies of 550 million rubles (almost $9.7 million) for the purchase of mineral fertilizers.
