The government of Russia has extended quotas for the export of mineral fertilizers until December 31 this year. As follows from the resolution, producers may export about 8.3 million tons of nitrogen fertilizers and 5.9 million tons of complex fertilizers. The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia are responsible to distribute volumes among exporters. The limitation does not affect exports to South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republic. The decision was made to prevent a shortage of mineral fertilizers in the domestic market and prevent food prices from rising.
