The decision is strategically correct.

Russia has imposed quotas for the export of sulfur, , which is necessary for the production of mineral fertilizers. As follows from the decree, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, together with the Ministry of Energy of Russia, were instructed to approve the procedure for calculating the volume of quotas for the export of sulfur and the plan for its supply to the domestic market.

Quotas will be valid until the end of this year, their total size will be 1.1 million tons.

“Currently, up to 60-65% of the produced sulfur is used for the production of phosphorus and complex fertilizers. Establishing quotas for its supplies abroad will undoubtedly support Russian fertilizer producers,” commented the information and analytical service of Fertilizer Daily.
