Developing countries can receive potassium fertilizers from Russia free of charge, said Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Our producers – primarily of potassium fertilizers, are ready to transfer them on a free basis to developing countries that are in dire need of these fertilizers,” he said, asking the Russian Foreign Ministry to work on this issue. Vladimir Putin also noted that the European Union authorities’ ban on deliveries of mineral fertilizers from Russia through its ports is discrimination. “On August 10, the European Commission issued a clarification on this issue. It turns out that only EU countries can buy our fertilizers, and the supply of Russian and Belarusian fertilizers through the ports of European countries to the developing countries – to the markets of Asia, Africa, Latin America – is still prohibited,” Vladimir Putin stressed.
