# Centrex Metals expands phosphorite exports

A huge batch left for the neighboring country.

The Australian company Centrex Metals sent a pilot batch of 5 thousand tons of phosphorites from its Ardmore project (Queensland) to New Zealand. An agreement for their supply was concluded with the New Zealand agriculture cooperative Ravensdown.

Ravensdown sells mineral fertilizers, plant protection products, and services throughout New Zealand. It will use phosphorites to produce phosphorus fertilizers such as superphosphate.

The reserves of the Ardmore project amount to 16.2 million tons of phosphorus pentoxide with an average content of 27.8% and a cutoff of 16%.

According to the results of geological exploration, phosphorite deposits are located at shallow depths and can be worked out in an open-pit method. By enrichment, clay material can be easily removed, obtaining a high-quality concentrate. It can be in demand in both Australia and New Zealand, which depends on imports of phosphorites, mainly from North Africa.

Previously, Centrex Metals shipped 500 tons of phosphorites to Singapore.
