Hope for Western carriers disappeared.

United Grain Company intends to order 14 sea vessels to transport grain outside of Russia. Their construction will be carried out by the United Shipbuilding Corporation, and the first ship may be completed no earlier than 2026.

United Grain Company also plans to buy five bulk carriers abroad by 2025.

“This year, United Grain Company and other domestic traders faced a shortage of sea vessels for transporting grain: due to the Western sanctions against Russia, foreign logistics operators refused to load Russian grain on their ships, proving their unreliability. The decision of the United Grain Company to create their own fleet will allow the producer to significantly reduce its dependence on foreign carriers, although it will require significant investments,” commented the information and analytical service of Fertilizer Daily.
