# Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Plant completed shutdown repairs at two units

The work was carried out on units for the production of ammonium nitrate and nitrogen phosphate.

Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Plant (KCKK, part of Uralchem) completed shutdown repairs at the AC-72/1 and AC-72/2 units for the production of ammonium nitrate and nitrogen phosphate.

Repair of each unit took 14 days. During the process, all elements of the technological chain were inspected and the main technological equipment was cleaned. The specialists carried out an audit of control and shut-off valves, updated workstations, and repaired electric motors.

As part of the operational efficiency project, the upper intake cones on the units were coated with a special material to prevent the product from sticking to the surface. This will save staff effort and time for washing, which will lead to an increase in the output of the finished product.

During the repair work on the AC-72/1 unit, juice pipelines were replaced. In the gas cleaning system, part of the juice vapor collectors and the irrigation collectors of the filter tents have been updated. This should qualitatively affect the operation of the gas cleaning system of the unit.

Repair work was carried out by specialists from contractors, repair departments of KCKK and employees of the ammonium nitrate production workshop.
